The Western Hockey League has released updated standings and schedules for all four conferences, reflecting the outcomes of Sunday's slate of games. The results confirm the current competitive hierarchy within the Western Conference's U.S. and B.C. divisions.
Kamloops defeated Edmonton 4-1 on Saturday to secure its third consecutive win of the reported period. That victory places the Blazers in first place in the B.C. Division. They have now beaten the Oil Kings in back-to-back meetings, having also won a 3-2 decision on Sunday. Kamloops is the only team listed in the B.C. Division with a 3-0 record.
The U.S. Division saw varied results over the weekend. Kelowna defeated Portland 4-2 on Saturday, followed by a 5-2 loss for Wenatchee to Victoria on Sunday. In the East Division, Swift Current beat Brandon 7-2 on Sunday, while Moose Jaw edged Everett 3-2 on Saturday. Lethbridge defeated Regina 6-3 on Sunday, adding to their recent performance against the Patricks.
Monday features a rest day for all teams, with no games scheduled across the league. Action resumes on Tuesday with a single matchup: Kamloops travel to Red Deer for a 9 p.m. Eastern Time start. This game will test Kamloops' ability to maintain their perfect record against a Red Deer squad that fell to Edmonton 3-2 on Sunday.
Wednesday brings the largest single-day slate with seven games scheduled. Calgary faces Prince Albert at 8 p.m. Eastern, while Lethbridge plays Edmonton at 9 p.m. Eastern. The later evening games, starting at 10 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. Eastern, include Medicine Hat at Portland, Moose Jaw at Prince George, Spokane at Kelowna, and Tri-City at Vancouver.
