Jay-Z to Fill 14-Minute Super Bowl 2027 Halftime Slot at SoFi Stadium

Jay-Z will perform the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, taking a 14-minute set at the game. The rapper's company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime performance since 2019 as a partner of the NFL, and Jay-Z is a decision-maker on who takes the stage. For this cycle, he selected himself.

The matchup itself remains unbooked. The two teams that will play in the Super Bowl will be determined on the final day of January, after the conference championship games. Jay-Z's performance slot, by contrast, has been set, and he has not announced any guests who will join him during the 14 minutes.

Beyoncé tops the list of artists who could appear alongside him. The two married in 2018 and have three children together, and their recording history runs from "'03 Bonnie and Clyde," made before they were dating, to "Crazy in Love," released in 2003, followed by "Drunk in Love," "Part II (On the Run)," "Deja Vu" and "Lift Off." They have toured together. Beyoncé has performed at the Super Bowl before, joining Coldplay and Bruno Mars at halftime in 2016 and singing the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001 in Houston, her hometown. On Christmas Day 2024, she played the halftime slot in Houston in a game widely called the "Beyoncé Bowl."

Rihanna is another possibility, with a professional history that reaches back to 2005, when Jay-Z, then CEO of Def Jam Records, heard her audition for him and others at the label. She moved to Roc Nation in 2010. The two have recorded "Umbrella," "Run This Town" and "FourFiveSeconds" together, and earlier this year she appeared at his tour stop at Yankee Stadium, joining him on stage. Rihanna headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023 and announced her pregnancy during that performance.

Blu Ivy Carter, the oldest child of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, performed as a dancer at Beyoncé's Christmas Day 2024 halftime show in Houston and later on the Cowboy Carter tour. She also attends NFL games with her father. Concert audiences at those tour dates held signs for her and called her name, and discussion of her appearances circulates on social media.

Eminem has shared stages with Jay-Z as well, performing alongside him on the current tour. The two recorded "Renegade" together for Jay-Z's album The Blueprint. Eminem appeared as a guest at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, which featured a hip-hop lineup.

Roc Nation's role in the halftime production dates to 2019, and the company continues in that capacity for the February 2027 game. The performer for the 14-minute set is Jay-Z, and no additional artists have been announced for the performance.
