Pueblo residents have until this evening to enjoy a high of 80 degrees before temperatures drop by 30 degrees. A cold front crosses the state on Friday, October 23, ending the region's warm spell. Saturday's high is forecast to reach only the 50s, marking a sharp cooldown from the final stretch of warmth.

Morning temperatures in Pueblo started in the 50s with broken clouds. Sunshine was expected to emerge around 10 a.m. along Interstate 25 as morning clouds cleared. The front advances from the west, bringing additional cloud cover and helping generate storms farther south. The chance of rain on Pueblo's south side is currently between 10% and 20%, with a more substantial increase expected during the weekend.

Neighboring communities face similar weather patterns. Canon City has a high of 75 and a low of 49, with a 20% to 30% chance of afternoon showers. Woodland Park is forecast to top out at 58 degrees with a low of 39. The Tri-Lakes area around Monument will see a high of 69 and a low of 43, followed by Saturday highs in the 50s. Farther south, Walsenburg and Trinidad will reach 73 and 74 degrees respectively, making Friday their warmest day in the next week.

Colorado Springs is set for a high of 73 and a low of 47. The front could support thunderstorms farther east and along the southern portion of Interstate 25. On the eastern plains, thunderstorms may return by Friday evening after a sunnier start. Afternoon temperatures there are in the 70s and 80s, with lows in the 50s. Mountain forecast highs are in the 60s with lows in the 30s.

Lingering moisture and flooding remain concerns in southwestern Colorado. Water levels in that area may take time to recede. The preliminary Halloween outlook calls for temperatures in the 50s and 60s with dry weather, though that forecast could change.

Conditions are expected to become calmer next week. The forecast includes sunshine, some partly cloudy skies, and temperatures gradually warming into the 60s.
