New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson will remain with the franchise through the Nov. 10 trade deadline. A well-placed source confirmed this weekend that the team has no intention of moving the 26-year-old veteran, putting an end to speculation that he might join the trade block alongside other notable receivers.

The announcement comes as other NFL teams finalize roster moves. The Tennessee Titans recently traded perennial Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons for two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick. This move followed a similar strategy the Jets employed a year ago, when they traded cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams for multiple draft selections.

Wilson's situation differs from last season because the Jets recently extended his contract. He signed a four-year deal worth $130 million that runs through 2030. Sources indicate that Jets ownership is deeply attached to the player and views him as a central figure in the team's offensive rebuild.

The franchise has already accumulated a surplus of future draft capital. These assets include the Indianapolis Colts' 2027 first-round pick and the higher of the Dallas Cowboys or Green Bay Packers 2027 first-round pick. Team executives believe it is time to start selecting players rather than continuing to trade veterans for picks.

Wilson has expressed his own preference to stay in New York. Speaking to reporters recently, he stated, 'Yeah, I want to be here, man. I want to win games and that's the one thing we've been missing on here. I love it here.'

He added that he has been optimistic for the past three to five years despite the team's struggles. 'And that's why these [losses] each weekend hurt a little more,' Wilson said. Other wide receivers, including Brian Thomas Jr. and Josh Downs, are expected to be available for trade in the coming days, but Wilson is not among them.

The Jets plan to use Wilson as a cornerstone as they prepare for the 2027 draft. They aim to strengthen the offensive side of the ball by making selections with the draft picks they have already secured. The team will keep Wilson on the roster as the Nov. 10 deadline approaches, focusing on building a competitive squad around his talent.
