NJ Transit’s Route 355 provides a direct bus link from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan to American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The agency states that the trip takes less than 30 minutes under normal traffic conditions. This direct connection allows residents of New York City to access the complex without transfers. The route operates with limited service on weekdays, while weekends offer more frequent departures. Travelers must verify schedules on the NJ Transit planner before purchasing activity tickets.

American Dream combines an indoor amusement park, a water park, a snow slope, and retail stores in a single location. The facility does not offer a single all-inclusive pass for every attraction. For example, a ticket to Nickelodeon Universe does not grant entry to DreamWorks Water Park or Big SNOW. Visitors must purchase separate tickets for each major experience or select specific bundled packages. These bundles may reduce costs compared to buying individual entries, but their value depends on the family’s planned itinerary.

Access to Big SNOW requires a distinct purchase from equipment rental. The base admission ticket does not include gear. Visitors needing skis or snowboards must select the appropriate product package. The facility specifies which clothing items are included in the rental and which items visitors must bring. Height restrictions also vary by attraction, requiring parents to check eligibility for different age groups before arriving.

Driving to the complex adds costs beyond fuel and tolls. Parking at 1 American Dream Way carries a base fee of $6 per vehicle after an initial 15-minute free period. The water park website notes that additional taxes apply to this rate. Specific parking fees and conditions also apply for MetLife Stadium events. Visitors should note the parking level and sector to locate their vehicle easily upon departure.

The Family SuperSaver promotion does not apply to Route 355. The current fare for the bus ride must be checked through official channels when selecting passengers. This cost should be included in the total trip budget along with round-trip travel time. Arriving at the Port Authority terminal allows time to find the boarding door and walk to the chosen activity inside the complex.

Retail stores and restaurants operate on independent schedules. A Sunday visit requires checking the hours of specific shops and dining options, as they may differ from attraction operating times. The complex directory helps visitors locate specific spaces and plan meals. Allocating dedicated time blocks for eating and shopping prevents the day from becoming rushed.
