Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty targeted the New York Jets defensive front seven ahead of the Week 8 matchup at MetLife Stadium. Jeanty claimed some Jets defenders "don't really want to tackle," a comment that arrived as he seeks to improve a struggling season. The backfield has averaged 3.1 yards per carry and rushed for only one touchdown this year.

The Jets have struggled to contain opponents on the ground, ranking 24th in the league by allowing 127.7 rushing yards per game. Last week, the Miami Dolphins rushed for 156 yards against New York, capping a game-clinching series that the Jets failed to stop. Injuries further complicate the defensive effort for the home team.

Top run stuffer T'Vondre Sweat will miss the game with a knee injury. Edge rusher David Bailey is listed as doubtful with a groin issue. The absence of these two players leaves the front seven thin against a Raiders offense that includes quarterback Kirk Cousins and tight end Brock Bowers.

Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson has also seen reduced production. He recorded six total catches over the past two games. In the loss to Miami last week, Wilson caught two passes on three targets for 26 yards.

Brian Costello of the New York Post predicts the Raiders will exploit the Jets defense. He expects a close contest that the Las Vegas team will win in the fourth quarter. The projected score is 28 for the Raiders and 24 for the Jets.
