The Stony Brook University volleyball team dropped its final road match of the regular season on Saturday in Buies Creek, N.C. The Seawolves lost to Campbell University in five sets, with the final score reading 26-24, 25-27, 17-25, 25-19, and 15-11. This result concludes the program's final away trip before it returns to its home court for the closing weekend of the season.

Stony Brook players Ella Sanders and Ayanna Pierre Louis led the team with 12 kills each. Sanders also recorded a team-high 18 digs, while Pierre Louis contributed four blocks. Quinn Anderson added to the offensive effort in the first set with back-to-back kills that helped establish an early lead.

The first set saw Stony Brook build an 8-11 lead after Campbell committed several offensive errors. The Seawolves scored eight of the next 10 points to take a 20-13 advantage. Campbell responded with three separate 4-0 runs down the stretch to tie the set late, ultimately winning the frame 26-24.

Set two began with an 8-3 Stony Brook lead, fueled by a Sanders kill, a Pierre Louis block, and six attack errors from Campbell. The Camels staged a 7-0 run to regain control, and the teams traded points until reaching 20-20. Aces from Rayanne Wheat and Sanders forced a tiebreaker, which Stony Brook won on a final kill by Anderson and a Campbell error.

The Seawolves dominated the third set, taking a 15-8 lead at the break. Mopelola Ojo and Damisi Osibodu combined for five kills in the first half of the set. After the timeout, Ojo added two more kills to extend the lead to 18-10. Sanders and Pierre Louis finished the set on offense as Stony Brook won 25-17.

Set four returned to a close contest, with both teams tied at 15-15 at the midpoint. Stony Brook held a 13-8 lead early in the set, but Campbell scored seven of the next 10 points. The Camels then added seven consecutive points to take a 22-16 lead, which they held to win the set.

In the deciding fifth set, Stony Brook fell behind by five points early and struggled to recover. The Seawolves narrowed the gap to two points at 12-10 on kills from Mercedes Motton, Anderson, Osibodu, and Pierre Louis. Campbell held the lead to secure the match victory.

The Seawolves return home next week to host Towson State University. The first match is scheduled for Friday, November 13, at 5 p.m. The regular season finale follows on Saturday, November 14, at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on FloCollege.
