Dallas Wings teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are no longer a couple.

The pair made the announcement during an episode of Fudd's podcast, Fudd Around and Find Out, on Friday. They stated that their relationship ended more than a year before they shared the news with the public. Bueckers specified that the split occurred before Fudd was drafted into the WNBA.

"We were not together before she got drafted, so all of those narratives can go to bed," Bueckers said. She emphasized that Fudd earned her spot in Dallas through talent rather than personal connection. "She was drafted because she deserved it, because she's an amazing human, amazing basketball player," Bueckers added. The duo described their current status as professional and friendly. "We're the utmost professionals. We care about basketball and we're still friends. We're still cool," Bueckers said.

The two players first met at a Team USA tryout in 2017. Bueckers recruited Fudd to join her at UConn, where they won the NCAA national championship in July 2025. Bueckers entered the league as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Fudd joined the Wings the following year as the No. 1 pick of the 2026 draft.

The team previously kept their personal life private. A Wings public relations representative declined to comment on their status at Fudd's introductory press conference in April. Bueckers stated at media day that their personal relationship was not anyone else's business. She indicated she would not discuss the topic again during the season.

Fudd's rookie season ended after 30 games due to season-ending knee surgery. Before the injury, she became the first rookie to win the 3-Point Contest. She averaged 13.1 points and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 39.7% from three-point range. She earned a selection to the All-Rookie Team.

Bueckers led the Wings to the No. 7 seed and the franchise's first playoff appearance since 2023. The postseason run ended in the first round when Dallas lost a 16-point lead in Game 3 to the Golden State Valkyries. Bueckers averaged 20.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists on 51.2% field goal shooting. She made the All-WNBA Second Team for the second consecutive season and finished sixth in MVP voting.
