Nearly 70-year-old pickpockets, WWII football stars, and a blind cyclist all feature in five new titles hitting American screens this weekend.

The slate opens with "The Only Living Pickpocket in New York," a crime thriller written and directed by Noah Segan. John Turturro stars as Harry Lehman, a veteran thief trying to support his disabled wife in a cashless city. His life changes when he steals a USB wallet belonging to Dylan Diamond, played by Will Price, the heir to a mafia family. Turturro's character must return the stolen device before facing the wrath of the crime boss, a role played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Steve Buscemi and Giancarlo Esposito also appear in the film, which opens in theaters on Friday, October 30.

The same day, "The Mosquito Bowl" premieres. Directed by Peter Berg, the historical drama is based on Buzz Bissinger's nonfiction book. It follows four college football players who enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Assigned to the Pacific, the soldiers prepare for the 1944 Battle of Okinawa. During their wait, they participate in a famous exhibition game known as the Mosquito Bowl. Bill Skarsgård and Nicholas Galitzine lead the cast.

Liam Neeson takes the lead in the action thriller "The Mongoose," directed by Mark Vanselow. Neeson plays Ryan Flanagan, a decorated soldier falsely accused of a crime. He flees across the United States in a Mustang Shelby, with the police chase broadcast live on television. Marisa Tomei, Ving Rhames, and Michael Chiklis round out the cast. This film also releases in theaters this Friday.

Two documentaries join the lineup. "Everest: The Other Side" follows climber Jim Morrison after the 2022 death of his partner, Hilaree Nelson. Morrison completes a historic descent of the north face of Everest in October 2025, scattering Nelson's ashes at the summit. The film is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin and arrives in cinemas on Friday.

Gina LeVay Goldstein directs "Blind AF," a documentary about Shawn Cheshire. A U.S. Army veteran and paramedic, Cheshire lost her sight in 2009. She went on to become a 13-time national paracycling champion and the first blind person to cross the United States on a standard bicycle. That 5,700-kilometer journey took 60 days. The film is available on Prime Video.
